Hi beautiful Snagglers, you can call me Pixie and I'm here to prep you up with Snag! Preppy for me is all about the quality of timelessness without the stuffiness and looking effortlessly stylish without sacrificing comfort. At its core preppy is never about chasing trends, it's buying once and wearing it forever. Which is exactly what Snag stands for, great quality for everybody that lasts and lasts!
Looking 'put together' doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. In fact in many iterations of the modern Prep the idea of versatility in its stylings makes it a very easy to wear fashion, which created a more inclusive space for people to try the look.
Modern variants of preppy stylings has evolved from its traditional origins, and without going into too much detail on the history of each one, there are a lot you can incorporate from your own wardrobe to create that cohesive and timeless aesthetic. Go for an accent colour, mix in classic patterns or lean into a bit of structure with blazers for a day to evening look.
The style teeter between the formal to cosy so feel free to experiment as I believe the more you overlap, the more it feels personalised to you. I always say that fashion is about self expression, so the more comfortable you feel the more confident you become. So make it yours and experiment!
The one component I obsessively gravitate towards are mini skirts, plus they help showcase such beautiful tights, which is key in tying everything together. Remember, you can easily work with what you have by being intentional and mindful with the little details.
Pixie's Current 3 Tights Choices

The Collegiate Preppy with Seoul Chic Faux Sock Tights in Burgundy
Layering is a big part of Preppy fashion and in this outfit I've layered a collared blouse under classic cable knit vest with a matching skirt to echo the burgundy tone of the tights. This creates a seamless harmony while you can be a little playful with patterns. I topped it off with a Varsity style jacket (also known as a Letterman jacket) as a nod to its collegiate roots. These Seoul Chic tights combines cute, fun and classy all in one design without the hassle of having to pull up your knee high socks! So they really are a must have! No fuss, all slay, all day!

The Day to Night with It's a Fine Line Fishies in Cherry
An outfit that can take you from brunch to evening drinks saves you time and effort, so versatility is key here. First of all let's talk about the tights, the subtle pinstripe pattern add sophistication whilst the incredibly soft micro fishnets provides comfort that lasts all day! Fine Line Fishies comes in two colours but I've chosen 'Cherry' for a bit of intrigue in a black & white outfit. The splash of colour makes it playful enough for daytime but the blazer and collared blouse lends an air of formality for evening outings. Accessorising makes an outfit feel more curated, so a simple belt, a matching bag or even little bow will pull everything together. Finally when it comes to footwear, comfort is preferable but since we want this to blend seamlessly into the evening, Mary Jane pumps are perfect as they are dressy enough for evening events but not too uncomfortable for the day.

The Whimsical Romance with Time Warp Fishnets in White
For my next look, I wanted something a little more delicate. The swirling lace pattern on these white Time Warp fishnets is the perfect touch to make an outfit feel beautifully put-together.
I've paired them with a sweet floral mini dress and layered a crisp white blouse underneath to keep that preppy harmony. You could easily pop a solid pastel tight underneath to change up the look for any weather!

My Additional Winter Favourite: Grannies Cable Knit Wool Tights in Piglet
Ah the cable knit! A classic pattern and a staple in many wardrobes including mine! So here's a simple sweater over mini skirt combo! As for the tights, when I say I want to live in these, I mean it. Not only that they're made out of the softest natural fabric (wool) and feel super soft on, they now come in the sweetest powder pink shade! If I was a pink tone, I'd love to be Piglet for sure! These Grannies Cable Knit tights are the perfect pair for an elevated but super cosy outfit, they really are the star of this look.
You can pair them with any neutral base but I'm warming up the palette with beige and browns here. You can see that I'm also wearing a cable knit pink jumper under my beige coat to tie the pastels together. Throw on a big scarf and you'll be warm from top to toe!
This is my favourite Winter look as it is so easy to wear but looks intentional, casual yet not 'thrown together'. Don't worry about wearing the highest of heels like what I'm wearing here, swap it to a pair of pink trainers and you'll still look perfectly 'put together'.
